GPS spoofing is a fast-growing threat to commercial fleets: attackers transmit false satellite signals that cause vehicles to report incorrect locations, undermining the foundation that every fleet management workflow depends on. Spoofing enables cargo theft, geofence evasion, insurance fraud, dispatch disruption, and compliance manipulation  and conventional telematics cannot tell when it is happening. Mobile Defender provides external, vehicle-level detection of GPS spoofing events, alerting fleet managers when the location data they rely on can no longer be trusted.

The solution operates alongside the Geotab platform, giving fleet operators a new layer of location-integrity assurance without changes to existing workflows. Mobile Defender's approach is patent-pending and developed at NYU's Center for Cybersecurity, addressing a threat category that the FBI and the automotive cybersecurity community have identified as a significant unsolved problem for connected vehicles.
